MiGreenKitchen is an independent, female-founded business on a mission to shake up the health food scene with nutrient-packed microgreen products.

Founded in 2021 by best friends Erin and Pip, driven by a shared passion for holistic health and sustainability, they found themselves grappling with the challenge of balancing healthy living, with the demands of everyday life—something many people can relate to!

Their adventure into the world of microgreens began unexpectedly when a family friend introduced them to these vibrant greens growing in their shed. They were thrilled to uncover the remarkable nutritional benefits and delicious versatility of microgreens, igniting a passion that continues to grow. 

Here's a whistle-stop tour of the story behind MiGreenKitchen, from how it started and the journey into 2025!

After setting up their very first green house in a university house share, they began experimenting with growing techniques and varieties of microgreens.

After choosing nutritious broccoli microgreens to add to the first product, the long process of product development began. Deciding on processing and packaging techniques, with the aim of keeping the product as nutrient dense as possible.

In the final year of their studies they received an Enterprise Scholarship Award through the University of Leeds, allowing their business knowledge to develop while meeting experts from many industries. The award allowed migreenkitchen to continue to invest in quality microgreens and ingredients.

In the winter of 2024 they received the keys to the first business space, a small growing room which would equip us to grow microgreens in a food safe environment. Allowing efficient growing conditions and the production of high quality microgreens.

After years of research, product development and hard work, they are pleased to announce the launch of our first microgreen based product!
